Alisa McRonald is a contemporary textile artist creating work that celebrates fairytales, folklore and queerness with a vintage/kitsch/pop lens.

She has exhibited nationally and internationally including at the Drey Gallery (2024), the Toronto Reference Library, the Interior Design Show Prototype Exhibition and the Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener and Area (CAFKA) (2023), Craft Ontario (2022) and the Drake Hotel in Toronto (2021).

Her work has been featured in publications such as: Harper’s Bazaar Japan, Untitled Magazine and the Toronto Star. She was awarded the 2024 Craft Ontario Rich Foundation Residency award, was a Creative in Residence for the 2023 Ontario Culture Days and has won the 2023 Best Product/Design Award from DesignTO, the 2020 Best of Craft and Design Award from the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair and her work has been featured on many curatorial lists.

She love to rescue other handmade items such as quilts and afghans from thrift shops and rummage sales. For her, these items represent many hours of skills and hands full of love. Alisa is passionate about using reclaimed textiles and has made a commitment to use as much as possible in her work (she's nearing 100%).
